Hi, this is Angela again, and I think I'll start off by answering Joelle Pederson's question from Touchstone school in MA. Joelle's first question was what it feels like getting up early, and going to bed late. Well, let's just say that if it was up to me, I'd get up late, and stay up late. Unfortunately, because of differences in time zones, our first broadcast is at 5 o'clock here which would be 10 o'clock your time( I think). We have a 45 min. drive down to the sight, so most of us sleep in the vans. In answer to your question about if I get up that early everyday, well I'm suppose to. See, we have breakfast at 2:30, so we have to be at our meeting place at 2:30. On Thurs., I must have forgotten to set my alarm because at about 2: 25, LaQuen knocked on my door to see if I was up and I wasn't!!! Some how I managed to get ready in 5 min., and wasn't late for breakfast (which I wouldn't mind being late for anywise. It's not very yummy.).!!!
Joelle also asked about interviews. Usually, everything goes well for both the interviewer, and the interviewee, but sometimes I don't hear the question right, and answer with something stupid.
EX: Someone asks you: Did I lock the door?
You answer: I'm going to get my retainer.
This didn't happened in an interview, but it happened to Jackie and me!!
Another question I was asked was whether or not I get nervous before the camera rolls. Well, sometimes I do, but most of the times I just relax and tell my self that whatever happens, and if I try my hardest, everything will turn out OK. I know that sounds kind of corny, but it seems to work for me!!! Also, it helps to try to prepare for all situations that might happen. So many times I felt like I completely messed up on camera, but when I get off everyone says I did great!! It's really a boost!! That also helps build confidence. So I can really relate about feeling like you messed up. Hey, most of the time you don't screw up as bad as you think. Besides learn from your mistakes, and let everything else go.
Well, let me tell you what I did today really quick, and then I have to go because it's about 9:30 here. OK, the lava totally let loose today, and this morning it held a fiery performance. It glowed reds and oranges as it cascaded down the barren volcano side. What a show!! What's even better, is that from 6 to 12, I got to work on the active lava site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was really fun. Anyway, that basically sums up my day!!
I just want to thank Joelle Pederson for writing to me!! I was really fun hearing from you!! and to everyone else out there, if you have a question, or just want to talk, go ahead and write me and I'll try to answer your letters!!!
All for now!
