runl1a/SWl01 V3.9
See the release notice here
These are the complete-package tar files.  Since there is such a wide distribution of SWl01 versions in use among all of the HRPT stations, we will not be releasing an update package for this version.

Also, new to this version the tar file will create a new directory in whatever directory the tar file is extracted.  The new directory will have the name, SWl01_<version>_<platform>   So the IRIX tar file will create the directory, SWl01_3.9_IRIX

You can also download just the new SWl01 executables by clicking on the 'exe' links to the right.  If you do this, be sure to rename the executable to 'SWl01', move it into your operational runl1a/SWl01 directory, and verify that it has execute permissions.

GPS Element Files -- Required for running runl1a/SWl01

The elements.dat file, which resides in the swfmops directory within the runl1a/SWl01 installation, needs to be kept up to date to obtain the best-possible navigation resolution.  You have two choices: GPS elements for the entire SeaWiFS mission,  or the GPS elements for the last 30 days.  If the data you are processing is older than 30 days, you MUST get the GPS elements for the entire mission.  If you only process recent data, within 30 days of the current day, you can use the 30-day GPS elements.

Important: Regardless of which file you download, place the file in your swfmops directory.  If you download the 30-day file, rename the file to elements.dat.

You can download the full and 30-day GPS elements here.

Installation Instructions

To install the complete package, put the TAR file in a directory of your choosing, and uncompress and extract the TAR file. This will create the directory, SWl01_<version>_<platform>.  Change to the new directory, and read the README file to acquaint yourself with how the software works.

The elements.dat file must be moved into the SWl01_<version>_<platform>/swfmops directory.

Note that if you downloaded the file, elements.dat.30day, you must rename it, elements.dat

If you have difficulty downloading or have questions about how to configure and run the software, send mail to John Wilding.
