These notes were written by one Edgar Park, an appentice aboard the
Mount Temple ship during the sinking of the Titanic. Capt. Moore
in charge of that ship gives an account of the messages received on the
wireless, the actions he took, mentioning other ships in the area and
messages received from them. The original notes are held by his
daughters, Mr. Park having died in 1937, and who have held onto the
notes and only recently resurrected them.
As Mr. Park died when the girls were quite young, they knew little
about his life except that he spent some time in Australia, had worked
with machinery and served in the Army during the First World War and
they believe his death from stomach cancer was due to his service in
the Dardanelles.
