Several organizations reflect the growing numbers of women in seafaring occupations (as fishermen, importers, exporters, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, consumer educators, researchers, deck hands, and boat owners). Fishermen's wives' associations host fish-policy discussions and lobby local and national governments on fishing issues.
