We are still in Jasonville II..... The show Pele has been giving us is tremendous. The Lava occasionally breaks out and a river of Lava is seen. So far the lava is still encroaching but holding back waiting for the right moment. However -- 3/3/95 05:00 Hawaii time --- The Lava crossed the road... The remote lava site has moved but we are still safe ... for the moment..
The ice storm in Dallas caused us in Hawaii a little concern as the dish in Plano was collecting ice. (Our concern was not the drive to work as it was for some!!!) The antenna is equipped with de-ice and when it kicked in the signals remained as good as ever. THANKS PLANO... Sorry I missed the ice storm but we had to endure it in 80 degree weather...
The first group of Argonauts have been great. I got to work all of them either as the roving reporter or when they did live broadcasts to their home stations. If they are examples of what Jason is doing for the Students, I would say it is working.... The students like to talk to each other over the satellite when they are side by side and experience the delay first hand... They are also watching the sun approach the middle of our dish and soon we will experience the outage here. Production has been given the schedule and hopefully we can work around the outage and not interfere with the remote driving and Q&A segments.
Jason was on Good Morning America today. They were able to drive the MARSOKHOD vehicle live over the satellite during the segment.
To date we have completed 20 shows with still 40 left to go.
