Hi ! This is Week 2 argonaut, Kimberley signing in from Hawaii.

I've been having a great time these last few days. Everybody on the JASON team goes out of his or her way to make this a really memorable experience for us. There's so many different people to meet, all with different talents and " unique " personalities . You really start to feel close to everyone. Apart from waking up at 2:00 in the morning , our days are filled with exciting things to do. The big joke around the JASON site is about how all we get to eat at the lodge is rice and pasta. Especially the rice. Most of us aren't used to the rice in Hawaii , which is clumpy and kinda mushy. It makes a good joke. Today I went in the Helicopter . It was great ! There wasn't a lot of smoke so the lava was really visible. I can't really put it into words . I guess you had to have been there. Hopefully you have had a chance to see one of the transmissions. If you haven't I encourage you to try to see one. It's really a much better way to experience science than the use of a text book.

If anybody from Bermuda reads this I'd be interested in their reply (or anybody elses for that matter )

Got to go. We only have about 4 hours of sleep to look forward to.
