JASON Network Sites (JNS)
For locations near a PINS, but a little too far for large-scale
student involvement at the PINS proper, the PINS have developed JASON
Network Sites. These locations provide opportunities for students and
teachers to participate in the live expedition broadcasts as well as
teacher training and other activities hosted by the neighboring PINS.
They are typically school districts or universities which make their
auditoriums available for the live broadcasts for one or two weeks of
the expedition period. JNS students and teachers do not interact
directly with the JASON expedition site during the live broadcasts;
but they are encouraged to work with their PINS host to develop local
interactivity models.
