Kathy Grimes

Las Vegas, Nevada



Kathy Grimes of Las Vegas, Nevada, is a fourth and fifth grade science teacher at Gwendolyn Woolley Elementary School in Las Vegas. Grimes holds a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. By securing several grants, she established the Science Museum and Instructional Laboratory for the Environment (Project S.M.I.L.E), a program that uses fifth grade at-risk students as teachers. Grimes is a two time Nevada state recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Science.
