Dr. Frank Mazzotti
Host Researcher, Herpetology
Dr. Frank Mazzotti is an assistant extension scientist for the Department of
Wildlife and Range Sciences at the University of Florida. Mazzotti has
extensive teaching experience and conducted crocodile research with Student
and Teacher Argonauts in the Florida Everglades during Part I of this year's
JASON Project. He has been studying crocodiles for 18 years. Mazzotti's
specific area of interest are wetlands ecology, conservation planning and the
impact of human activities on fish and wildlife resources in the southeastern
United States.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in
Social and Behavioral Sciences from John Hopkins University in 1971, his
Master's of Science degree in biology from the University of Miami in 1981,
and his Ph.D. in ecology from Pennsylvania State University in 1983.
