Dr. Dana Yoerger
Host Researcher, Marine Engineering (specializing in navigation and robotics)
Dr. Dana Yoerger, an associate scientist at
Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution, makes underwater robots and performs engineering research to
improve the performance of the robots. His work focuses on underwater
vehicles that are able to take detailed scientific measurements and samples.
During this year's JASON Project in Florida, he will make extremely precise
images and maps that scientists can use to understand the ocean floor.
Yoerger likes to share the excitement of his job with his family as much as
possible. When his team is testing new robots, he sometimes lets his
children test drive them.
