The Story of Water Movement and Land Formation


Focus Questions: What structures has sea level rise, erosion or sedimentation produced? What tools do geologists use?

Research Location: SSV Carolyn Chouest, backup Key Largo

Technique: Sonar images of seafloor to determine the structures and layers of sediments.

Tools: Core samples taken from the NR-1, Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), Sonar, echo sounding, still cameras, manipulators for coring, depth finder, video imagining, side-looking sonar, and bottom profiling sonar.
