Profile of Expedition Scientists
This year the JASON Project will be exploring "Island Earth."
Volcanism, which created Earth's oceans, land, and atmosphere, is key
to understanding why Earth is the only celestial body able to sustain
life in our solar system. Students will explore the work of researchers
who study terrestrial and extraterrestrial subjects, and other researchers
who study adaptation strategies of life forms in Hawai'i. By learning
about the researchers who all be working in the field, their academic
preparation, and their presentation of research to their Colleagues students
will gain a more realistic picture of the research process and the
participants involved in this year's Project.
