We will be docking at the NOAA pier in Lake Union. The water level in Lake Union is higher than sea level. We will have to travel through the locks to get up to the level of the lake. It's a tight fit, but we make it. The NOAA ships do this all the time and they are bigger than the Bent.

We all pose on the 'steel beach' for a souvenir group photo. It has been a long trip and all of us have many memories to savor.

Finally our journey is at an end, and while we all love the sea, it is not our home. We are all very eager to see our families again and to get back to the normal, routine part of our lives.
It will take us several years to understand all of the data we have colllected. We prepare to send our shipment of data tapes, animal and water samples back tp the lab. As always we will probably discover more questions than answers. Then it will be time to go back to sea in our ship again. Perhaps one day, we will be able to say we know the sea.
